I like to let my clients know they are in good hands.  Here are some details regarding my educational background.  These links will also help you figure out what all those letters mean behind my name!  Please feel free to click on the links for more information, as well as mission statements and ethics for each association to which I belong.  If you have any questions regarding my training or certification, do not be shy to ask.

Education

My "first career" was as a Certified Athletic Trainer.  I received my Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training at Northern Illinois University in 2003.  Since then, I have worked with athletes of all ages, as well as many other populations when I was linked with various physical therapy clinics.  I utilize these skills within my massage practice.  I am current in my certification and licensing requirements.

My massage therapist credentials were earned at Applied Kinesthetic Studies (AKS) in Herndon, Virginia.  I graduated with honors in October of 2007 and became certified in January 2008.  I enjoy learning new techniques and love to complete continuing education courses.  My most current achievement is becoming a Certified Myofascial Practitioner under the tutelage of Howard Rontal.  I am current in my certification and licensing requirements.
